Farrah's Story

Farrah has been a foster carer with Fostering Rotherham for 7 years. She works as a Families Together Short Break carer and says it is a privilege to help to support children and their families as a unit.

Farrah said of the application process: "I found the application and assessment to be very straightforward and well organised. I felt supported in a personal way through the process, which is quite in-depth compared to an application for other types of work.”

“I have only had one placement but I am pleased to have been able to get to know one child over 7 years and to know that my part in his development has been and continues to be important and valued.”

Farrah also says she has found the training and support given to her by the fostering team has been excellent! She would definitely recommend fostering for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
